Walnut-Maple Syrup Cookies

- 1 3/8 cup (330 ml) all purpose flour
- 3/4 cup (180 ml) chopped walnuts
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml)each ground cinnamon, baking soda
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml)each baking powder, salt
- 5/8 cup (150 ml) margarine
- 1 cup (240 ml) sugar
- 1 egg replacer
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) vanilla
- 2 2/3 tbsp (40 ml) maple syrup
- 1 tbsp (15 ml) margarine
- 1/2 tsp (3 ml) vanilla
- 1/4 tsp (2 ml) lemon juice
- 1/4 tsp (1 ml) ground cinnamon

Mix together the flour, walnuts, cinnamon, baking soda, baking powder and salt.

Cream together the margarine and sugar, then add the mixed egg replacer and vanilla. Using an electric mixer, gradually add in the flour mixture.

Divide the dough into 12 slightly flattened spheres and place on a parchment lined cookie sheet. Bake at 350F (180C) for 12 minutes. While the cookies are baking, combine the remaining ingredients in a sauce pan and simmer to make a syrup.

Remove the cookies from the oven and drizzle the syrup over them. Allow to cool on the baking sheet. Makes 12 cookies.
